Quando si vuole affermare che una persona parla con un accento così marcato da rendere quasi incomprensibile ciò che dice, non è corretto tradurre letteralmente dall'italiano l'aggettivo stretto con “strict”. È necessario ricorrere ad espressioni come “thick” o “heavy accent”: Parla australiano stretto, she's got a thick (o heavy) Australian accent (non she speaks strict Australian).
